Funny story though.

I went to high school with a foreign exchange student named Ai Suzuki. She was from Japan. We were constant companions my sophomore and junior year and even traveled to New York City together to check out some colleges. I toured Julliard and she toured the big visual arts college out there.
She moved back to Japan my senior year. We tried to maintain correspondence (this was difficult to do because it was pretty much before this whole internet thing caught on, at least for me) so inevitably, we lost touch.
Earlier this year I was bored and googled her name and got a link for an artist in London named, you guessed it, Ai Suzuki. I was so excited to have tracked down my long lost friend I emailed her immediately going on and on about all the changes in my life since highschool and of course I asked her to divulge the goings on in her life. A week afterwards I got a reply, much to the effect of 'thank you for your interest in my work. My English isn't so good so I didn't quite understand your message.'
I thought, "hmm, her English was better than mine back then, maybe she just forgot". So I used babble fish to translate my words into Japanese and re-sent the email.
Her response was, "You have me mistaken for someone else, I've never been to Minnesota. Ai Suzuki is a very common name where I come from"
I was a combination of embarrassed and crushed. The above photo was taken by this mysterious London artist Ai Suzuki. I thought it was so pretty.

I guess these were taken in Paris. I remember feeling so happy for her because her dream was to travel the world, and for a moment I thought she had realized it.

My mom's refridgerator is filled with botteled water and moldy bologna.
I almost feel as if I should be bringing grocerys with me when I visit. Like she's the poor college student.
Except the reason there isn't any food at her house is because she eats out all the time

I don't live too far away from this display. I think it says "South Side 13" but it could be a "13" or it could be a "B" or even a "73" Either way, I haven't the slightest idea what it means.
